Illustration & Photography
I like to incorporate my abilities as a keen illustrator and photographer whenever possible. I have been commissioned to create magazine illustration and identity logos at various times in my career as a designer. I have always loved painting and believe this has gone towards forming my skills as a designer, having a keen eye for colour and composition. During the 2020 lockdown, I decided to write and illustrate my own kids' book, which has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience and a great way to develop my skills within the children's book publishing arena.
“We’re delighted with the design and artwork. It perfectly reflects the origins and style of our music”.
TwoManTing
Wolf Sketch
The animation on my homepage was conceived from this sketch. The original drawing was a collaboration between my son Jake and I. I kept it as I knew I would want to use the design for something in the future. So here it is, a meaningful way to introduce myself to you…
Wolf Colourways & Patterns
…The sketch was rendered in Adobe Illustrator and layered with additional details in Adobe Photoshop…
Wolf Frame Animation
…This frame animation was then created using the timeline feature in Adobe Photoshop.
Time-consuming but rewarding. Animated logos are becoming an integral part of
brand identity’s evolution.

Fish & Fox Photography Logo
This logo was hand-drawn and then created in Adobe Illustrator. The client particularly liked the hand-drawn approach and the font was then adapted to suit the style of the logo illustration.
Logo Design
This logo was designed to accompany a blog charting the progress of a motorbike expedition from Bristol to Sierra Leone. Both motorcycles were Enfield Bullets, I made sure the logo reflected this.
Acrylic Portrait on Canvas
I have a deep love of music, especially African popular music. A particular favourite of mine is Fatoumata Diawara, who I have seen perform many times. Her 2011 album ‘Fatou’ inspired me to paint this picture.
TwoManTing, Legacy, Album Artwork & Design
TwoManTing is a UK duo who play bouncy ‘sunshine Afro-roots’ music. They have commissioned me to produce the artwork for two of their albums, including accompanying marketing material.
TwoManTing, Say What? Album Artwork & Design
All of the artwork was created using a mixture of photography and illustration.
Clevedon Pier "The most beautiful pier in England" Sir John Betjeman
I took this photograph while staying with my friend in Clevedon. It's improbable that I would visit without having a stroll to the end of this pier: it is indeed beautiful.
Castle Combe
Walking around the grounds of the 14th-century manor house, I couldn't help but
be struck by the beauty of the snow-covered landscape. Standing on the
Saxon bridge and looking out over the frozen scene was delightful.

Triumph TR6
While on an apprenticeship as a motorcycle mechanic, I came into contact with some beautiful machines. This Triumph looked particularly impressive covered in raindrops as I wheeled it into the garage for an MOT.
Cat Portraits
I started to collect photographs of cats while on visits to friends and holidays.
These are some of my favourites.

Small Tortoiseshell
This butterfly was basking in the midday heat of the sun. I liked the contrast of its delicate wings with the slate sculpture it had rested on.
Symonds Yat
These photographs were taken at Symonds Yat in the Wye Valley. Everything was covered with sparkling frost, making it the ideal day for a photo session. I managed to catch the scene just before the sun melted the beauty. There are no filters on these images.
Bradford-on-Avon
During the lockdown of 2020, I was spoilt for choice regarding my daily exercise. This walk along the river was always a favourite. Blue skies and mother nature to keep me company. I don't know what I would have done without her!
